The Story

If it sounds random, that's because it is. I was burnt out (pun intended) from a string of busy inpatient rotations and turned to one of my favorite hobbies: watching Netflix while eating dinner. It was then that I was introduced to the idea of how "easy" sourdough is to make...comical for the sourdough bakers out there. I got up from the couch and put some flour and water in a jar. Some 50 odd loaves later, Breadside Manner was born.

I wouldn't be in medicine if I didn't make my hobby a small business...

What started as a random endeavor has been a way for me to flex my creativity and business skills while being a busy resident. I hope that each loaf purchased is a reminder to be adventurous, put yourself out there, and have a little fun.

Like anything, the logo was teamwork. One of my best friends helped create this logo inspired by my 90 lb German Shepherd-mix Millie. She too is obsessed with this bread.

Just can't get enough
